JessicaLynnOriginal Sketch Challenge #2

So after I submitted my entry for the Sheetload of Cards challenge, I checked out JessicaLynnOriginal's stamp site (she's the sponsor of the Sheetload challenge). The stamps over there are SUPER CUTE! Anyway, found her blog and saw that she's hosting a challenge of her own. Seemed simple enough so I thought I would try it out. Here's what I came up with:

The sketch was actually quite fun! Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Paper - All from Colorbok
Stamp - Michaels $1 bin
Embellishments - Flowers from Hero Arts, Pomegranate Punch Ribbon Paper Trim from Flair Designs, Buttons from Dress It Up

Sheetload of Cards: September Challenge

Tried out the new Sheetload sketch last night. The added requirement this month was to make the cards fall themed. I found this little turkey and the sentiments and had to make that my focus for this card. I hope you enjoy!

Embellishments - Turkey, "happy," and "turkey day" from Colorbok Doo-Dads
Die-Cut Pattern - Orange cut with Quickutz Silhouette Digital Design file, Scalloped Circle

SPCC: Color Combo #14 & Moxie Fab: Around the House

SPCC offered up a "guy" color combo this week of Ballet Blue, Soft Suede, and Basic Grey. My card could probably go for about anyone I would think though (although the DH has already said that it should be his). Then Moxie Fab World wanted projects that feature "around the house" items.

The inspiration for this card was the little sentiment that I found in a blister pack I had bought awhile ago at Big Lots from Around the Block. The "Happiness is Chocolate" just fit the color scheme so well! To go along with my sentiment I figured I needed some hot chocolate in a mug...and as I was playing around with my Quickutz Silhouette last night I found a cute little coffee/cocoa/latte mug set on the digital design store. It still amazes me that that little machine can cut these TINY little details out so well! I almost have to watch it that I don't ruin the die cut more than worrying about the machine! But I am learning and having fun in the process. I also pulled out my glue pen for this card...why hadn't I used it before? Makes life so much easier! :)

I hope you enjoy!

DETAILS:
Paper - Brown, Grey, and Blue from Paper Reflections, Glitter Brown from Sarapapers Paper Pizazz Sheets
Sentiment - "Happiness is Chocolate" from Around The Block Fun Words
Ribbon - American Crafts
Embossing Powder - Stamp N Stuff
Die-Cut - Mug set from Quickutz Silhouette Digital Store

2 Sketches 4 You: Laura's Sketch 34

I have seen a lot of people say they are doing the 2 Sketches 4 You challenges and this week I had to play along! The sketch was clean and simple so I kept with that theme and went super easy on my card too. This card only took like 15 minutes (would have been less but as I was already playing around with my heat gun last night, I decided to emboss the sentiment here too). I think my husband is still a little leery of me making holiday cards already but we'll appreciate it come December when it's time to send them all out!

DETAILS:
Paper - Die Cuts With A View
Snowflake - Walmart Christmas
Ribbon - Target
Stamp - "Let it Snow" border Penny Black Inc.
Embossing Powder - Stamp N Stuff

Christmas in September

It's hard to think of Christmas already, and especially with moving to California where I won't be worrying about driving in snow anymore, but card makers and challenges are starting to get into the holiday spirit nowadays. I had to join in on the action and make this fun little snowflake card! Enjoy!

This little card goes along with the Caardvarks sketch challenge (Sketch 3) and Moxie Fab World's holiday stamp challenge.

Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo #12

I'm starting to like these challenges that I find! Of course, then when you enter, you have to go see everyone else's submissions, which leads to more yummy ideas but also more challenges...so then I have to see if I can make something for that one too. It is a lovely little circle of events, you know?

I did stumble across the Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo blog just that way and once I saw the challenge I really wanted to enter it. Thought the prize was cool too...Copic markers from iCopic! I don't own any Copics or even know what I would do with them, but the color combination was just too much fun to pass the challenge by. And I bet I would get some pointers on how to use them by checking out all these blogs I'm finding these days!

The color combo was similar to the Raspberry Suite Challenge but since I had so much fun with that one I wanted to do it again. Ok, so want and actually doing are different things...I had a heck of a time getting a result out last night even though I had pulled many of my various card making items that fit in the color scheme out and they were sitting in front of me. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to do. Part of this, I think, was the fact that I'm actually done making Thank You cards from the wedding. Yes, you heard right, DONE! So for this card I was puzzled as to what to do next! AHHH! Anyway, I left my crafty table with nothing made last night figuring that something would come to me in the morning....

And I was right! It all fit into place today. Go figure! So enough about that and on to the card! :)

The result turned out to be this little "Hello" card with a bit of my Hawaiian themed paper that I have around my crafty table due to working on a scrapbook of a trip to there in March. I wanted to showcase the pretty little flowers that were in the patterned paper and I thought I would turn the sentiment on its side (something I don't do much of). Finish it off with a little pink flower with orange button and the card was complete. I can't wait to give it to a friend! I think a friend would enjoy it out of the blue and I hope you did too! Thanks for stopping by!

Paper: Blue from DieCuts with a View 6.5x4.5 Mat Stacks, Orange from Bazzil Basics, Patterned from Unknown
Extras: Flower from Prima Flowers/Costa Brights, Button from Dress It Up, "Hello" Stamp by Hampton Art (the Michel's $1 bin)

P.S. Check out the SPCC blog also for some blog candy to be handed out in September!

Caardvarks: MyStampBox Challenge

I have found that I'm becoming addicted to these card challenges...I found another one on the Caardvarks blog that I thought was simple enough: "Use MyStampBox's logo colors. Pink, Black, and White." So why not? :) I have found that doing these challenges for my thank you cards that I still have left to do from the wedding does make these last few a bit more fun to make. I even got to use some new tools! I got the "thanks" stamp after visiting a new scrapbook store today and I finally used my Silhouette for something too! I even got a little fancier and pulled out the ol' heat gun and did some embossing...hadn't done it in a while but it reminded me of how fun it is. I might just have to do some more. I hope you enjoy!
