Happy Holidays Cardinal

The ladies at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot are such enablers! I feel in love with their projects when they previewed the new Home Shopping Network exclusive Cuttlebug embossing folders a while back. Of course, then I had to get a set myself! I was really into the flurries folder, and plan to use it for our Christmas cards yet, but I thought I would try out some of the others too.

The card I made for this post uses the cardinal embossing folder. I love how this folder is a scene in itself. I decided to emboss the cardinal on dark brown and then proceeded to use embossing powder to add color to various areas. I did some of the same technique to the ornaments, which are yet another folder from the HSN set. I embossed an entire sheet of the ornaments and them carefully cut out two of them, adding some silver embossing for their accents (my "bling" for the challenge).

I think this card is very peaceful. I plan to give it to someone really special this holiday season. :)

Thanks for stopping by!
