Swapping Sistahs!

We're at it again! Stephanie was our kit supplier this month. (Check the sidebar for more of our Swapping Sistahs adventures)

This month Stephanie challenged us all with two 6x6 pieces of wood paper and a sketch for our projects. I had seen the wood on the MoxieFab World blog a while back, but didn't know what I would ever do with it if I had some to use. So when I opened my envelope with this month's kit I was stumped. (haha...sorry, didn't mean that..and it's late so forgive my humor)

When I finally thought of something, birdhouses came into my head. Armed with this fun little pattern, found here, I proceeded to make the biggest of the three birdhouses with the wood papers. Except then I remembered that we had a sketch! Good thing I had scraps! I then proceeded to make the littlest birdhouse for my card. :)

So here's the sketch:

And here's my take (I flipped it since my birdie was flying to the right):

Joining this project up with the Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge (use string), I made my little birdie scene. I thought this stamp was so cute in the $1 bin at Michaels a while back and now I finally got to use him. Isn't he cute? I also wanted the focus to be on his little heart/flower so I colored that red. Finishing off the card was done by using my "Just A Note" sentiment from my Waltzingmouse Stamps - Say It With Style set. I really do love this loopy font.

Well, there you have it. A little late on the Swapping Sistahs posting, but now complete. Thanks for stopping by my little blog. Be sure to check out the other ladies in our little group (see sidebar).

EBTKS Challenge

I've been lurking on this fairly new challenge blog and this time I've decided to play! The Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge Blog is about finding inspiration around the house to create sketches or use common household items in the card making process. This challenge was a sketch:

Do you ever have a card not come together very easily? This is that card for me. I think I was making this way too hard, but I think it turned out pretty cute in the end. I hope you agree. I'm again on the purple kick so I used my trusty Martha Stewart papers. It is my favorite color! I also created another birthday card because you never have too many of those around. A lot of friends and family have April/May birthdays so I hope to be set soon with all the birthday cards I will need in the next few weeks. :)

Thank you for stopping by!
